PRIVACY POLICY

1 · Who is responsible for this nonsense

Wrongulator ("we", "us") operates this website. We are the data controller for the small amount of information described below. To reach a real person about privacy, email [email protected].

2 · What we actually collect

Embarrassingly little. Specifically:

• Anonymous analytics. We use a privacy-first, self-hosted analytics tool (Umami). It is cookieless, collects no personal data, and only counts things in aggregate (page views, rough country, device type, load speed). It cannot identify you and does not follow you around the internet.
• Server logs. Like every website, our server briefly records technical request data (IP address, browser type, timestamp) to keep the service running and to stop abuse. These are kept for a short time and then discarded. We don't use them to build a profile of you.
• The Hall of Fame counter. When you press share, we store the math expression you shared, its (wrong) answer, and a tally of how many times it's been shared. That is maths, not you. Please don't type personal information into a calculator.
• Your settings. Your chosen language and brainrot/deadpan preference live in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to us. It's a convenience, not a tracker.

3 · What we proudly do NOT do

• No accounts, sign-ups, or passwords.
• No advertising trackers or third-party marketing pixels.
• No selling, renting, or trading your data. Ever.
• No advertising or behavioural profiling of you.
• No cross-site or cross-app tracking.

4 · Children (we mean it here)

Wrongulator is silly fun that kids enjoy, so we designed it to be safe by default. Because we require no account and intentionally collect no personal information, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children — consistent with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the GDPR / UK Children's Code.

If you are a parent or guardian and believe a child has somehow sent us personal information, email [email protected] and we will delete it promptly.

5 · Legal bases (for the EU / UK crowd)

Where the GDPR applies, our lawful basis for the limited processing above is our legitimate interest in running a secure, working website and understanding aggregate, anonymous usage. We do not rely on consent for tracking, because we don't do tracking.

6 · Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you, and (in the EU/UK) to object to processing or complain to your data protection authority. The good news: we hold almost nothing, so there's usually nothing to hand over. Email [email protected] and we'll honour valid requests.

7 · Cookies

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. The only data stored on your device is the small preference described in section 2, kept in local storage. No annoying banner required.

8 · Changes to this policy

If we change how any of this works, we'll update this page and the date at the top. The wrongness of the maths, however, is permanent.
